The name “blobfish” is the perfect nick name for this odd blob-like fish. They can be found close to the deep waters of Australia. In resemblance to the jelly fish, the blobfish is made out of the same jelly texture. Though jelly is very thin, it can withstand pressures of 800 meters, which is almost 80 times higher then at sea level. It’s actually so thin and light it doesn’t have to swim at all. It usually just drifts above the sea floor. The blobfish also puts no effort into living. They’re only capable of feeding on anything edible floating near by them. Many find this animal to be ugly but I find it rather interesting. It even looks like humans could’ve taken on some natural looks from this animal. If you look closely at the face, it seems have similarities to a human’s nose and lips.
Blob fish are infrequently seen by humans. Since they prefer the dark, cold, and uncanny environment, it’s almost impossible to capture one. But if it’s to be done, it’s done with bottom trawling nets. These long nets allow people to catch underwater creatures by skimming the ocean floor. Luckily, since the blobfish have no muscles, it’s harder for them to escape, or swim away fast.

Believe it or not, this is a true animal that exists in the world. This daunting animal can be found in only Madagascar. In Madagascar, this creature is known to be some type of omen. The idea of the animal scares people, and they actually believe that they bring death upon them. The Aye-Aye is an endangered lemur species because their habitats are being constantly ruined by the people of Madagascar. Forests are being cut down to create coconut and sugarcane plantations, forcing the Aye-Aye to find new locations. The problem is they’re starting to run out of places to go, causing these animals to slowly disappear in extinction. Those who don’t move, due to the plantations, use the plantations as a source of food. Unfortunately, farmers don’t approve of the pests, and try to exterminate them. Though it’s been made laws not kill any type lemurs, many people ignore the requests and do what they feel is best for their crops. So even though this bizarre, ugly being is unpleasant to look at, their still living creatures, which deserve a chance to live.

Dugong

This odd animal is actually a cousin to the manatee. It is also a close relative of the elephant. Combined together, it creates the animal known as the dugong. It’s an on land and underwater creature that can be found in the warm waters of East Africa to Australia. The dugong can last underwater for six minutes with no air. When it surfaces above water, its strong tail supports it, allowing the animal to float head above water, almost as if it were standing. Many scientists believe that these animals were what encouraged the idea of mermaids. Since this mammal is so rare, it’s hunted a great deal. Poachers are constantly after this animal, and already an endangered species. It’s a shame to see such a neat creature be destroyed like it has been. What makes something even rarer about the dugong is that it’s harmless to the world. Since they’re herbivores, they don’t eat any meat. It's sensitive snout is used to chomp small grasses, with the bristles located in there rough lips. These gentle giants have an average lifespan of 70 years, which is impressive sense they carry weight from 510 to 1100 lbs. They also grow to be 8 to 10 feet long, and travel in herds.

Unusual Animals

The animal that caught my eye as an unusual creature, was the slender loris. These animals are found mostly in London, England. They happen to be a cross between a pygmy possum and a northern hairy-nosed wombat, giving them their unusually ugly, but cute look. Another thing that makes this animal one of the rarest in the world, is that they are only about finger size to a human. The largest these animals come to be is around 12 cm (4.7 inch), most of them weighing in at 30 grams when they're first born. One of their well known charactheristics is having large age as a full grown adult. Their eyes are large for well used night vision, since these animals are nocternal.
