Help wanted

There are certain things I look forward to in a year. The biggest thing of course being the summertime. The school year is always fine, but theres nothing better then a good three months off to have some fun in the sun. Unfortunately, it's been brought to my attention that i need to get a job for the summer. I've put my name at a couple places, but i haven't followed up on anything, and quite frankly i feel like I'm in kind of a pickle
I've attempted to try different kinds of work during the summer before. My first one being detasselling. Whoa, i don't think i will ever do that again unless i am in dire need of a job. I made decent money, but it was a lot a lot of work. I woke up at 4:30 every morning so i could make the 5 o'clock bus. the drive was about a half hour drive to fields. to sum it up, i don't think I'll be doing it again. The work wasn't really that bad, but the weather just made it harder. I remember each morning the fields would be wet, so we had to wear sweat pants and jackets. But by the time 10 rolled around, the sun was already starting to get hot. And let me say, its the worst feeling of wet, dirty socks, in your shoes that have large chunks of dried mud on them. Along with the wet sweat pants sticking to your skin as the sun beats down on your bare neck. Man that truly wasn't the highlight of my summer. i think the only thing that got me through was the fact that I was doing it with my friends.
Anyways, back to this summer, I don't know what I should do. A good majority of my friends are considering doing lifeguarding, as they did last. Some suggested that I should do that same. But I already decided that lifeguarding will not be involved in my summer plans. I can't swim to save my life, let alone save someone elses. So I had to say pass on that one. Though it would be nice to sit out in the sun all day doing nothing, because usually lifeguards don't have much to do unless someones drowning, which seems to rarely happen.
Another suggestion given was that I should check out working at a movie theater. I didn't think this was a half bad idea, because people always go to the movies, and I love watching movies. It seems like it would make sense to get a job there, but I have one problem, non of the theaters are hiring. I checked at all the avaliable theaters on my side of town. Yeah, non of them were excepting applications. Bummer right?
I am in kind of a peril, so if anyone has ideas of what I should do that'd be great. Preferable nothing like manual labor, but if that's what it comes down to, i guess i really don't have a choice.
